Welcome to Sundays at FPC

Worship Services

FPC has two worship services each Sunday.  The first service is at 8:45 AM which is a traditional style worship service.  The second service is at 11:15 AM which is a traditional style worship service that is live-streamed to our website and to YouTube.  We celebrate the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper on the first Sunday of each month.

Online Worship

At the start of the pandemic, we began offering our worship virtually.  Even though we are now able to gather in person, we still broadcast our services online; the service will be live-streamed each week. We invite you to listen to an audio-only live stream, or you can watch a live video stream on our YouTube channel. You can even submit prayer concerns and log your attendance online! Don't forget to follow along in this week's bulletin.

Attire

FPC has a “come as you are” dress code. You will see some members in “Sunday best,” some in “business casual,” and some dressed casually in jeans.

Christian Formation

Starting on September 18, we will offer an Education Hour at 10:00 AM each Sunday, including programs for adults, youth, and children. Due to COVID-19 concerns, some of our Christian Formation classes are offered online via Zoom. Check the announcements section of this week's bulletin for current information about what classes are being offered.

Sunday Express is our Sunday school program for grades K–5. During education hour, these children meet with their teachers for an activity, lesson, snack, and some play time.

GRACE Youth Fellowship consists of grades 6–12, and they meet for “Faith and French Toast” during the education hour.

For Parents

We welcome all children (even the noisy ones!) in our Sanctuary for worship! Additional options include:

  • We have a new children’s worship area inside the Sanctuary, called the “Prayground,” where children can read or color while their parents sit nearby.
  • Our Gathering Room, room #233, offers a casual space for parents and children to view a televised live-stream of the service.
  • The Nursery is located in room #245. Feel free to use this space for young children under 4.

COVID-19 Precautions

We are committed to keeping our worshippers safe, and we have taken steps to prevent the spread of COVID-19 at our in-person worship services. We continue to offer virtual worship on Sundays. If you wish, please feel free to worship from home, or participate from your car in the FPC parking lot via our online services.

If you have symptoms of COVID-19 or were recently exposed to someone with COVID-19, stay home and worship virtually. To prevent spreading COVID-19, the Session has decided on the following rules for in-person attendees:

  • Face masks are optional, based on levels of transmission in the City of Fairfax and in Fairfax County.
  • Please be respectful of others' wishes with respect to hand-shaking and personal space.
  • We will not pass the offering plate during the service. There is an offering plate on the communion table for you to place your gifts throughout the morning. You can also make your offering online.
