2020 Vision Capital Campaign

2020 Vision Capital Campaign

2020 Vision Capital Campaign Message to the Congregation

By Henry G. Brinton

Sixteen years ago, I felt drawn to FPC because it was “a house of prayer for all peoples” (Isaiah 56:7). Today, I feel that this mission is more important than ever. But houses need maintenance, and our building requires work if we are going to remain a vital center for ministry and mission. I invite you to look to the future and join me in asking the question: “What kind of church do we want to be in the year 2020?

”You have already expressed your passion for:

  • Worship with glorious music and powerful preaching.
  • Christian community that includes the warm, reinforcing bonds of lasting friendship.
  • Serving others through homeless hypothermia prevention and caring for the elderly.
  • Our identity as “a house of prayer for all peoples” and our growing diversity.
  • Christian formation and service opportunities for children, youths and adults.
  • Opportunities for personal growth, questioning, and speaking the truth to power.

All of these meaningful activities require a well-equipped and well-maintained building in which to worship, fellowship, serve, learn and grow. To pursue these priorities in the year 2020 and beyond, we need a capital campaign to raise funds for the renovation and revitalization of our church building and grounds.

Our capital campaign is called 2020 Vision, and was launched on Sunday, October 22, 2017 in Fellowship Hall. Attendees at the launch received Capital Campaign information packets which include letters from our pastors, a copy of the launch presentation, a copy of the Capital Campaign’s Case Statement, a Capital Campaign Project Overview and a pledge card. Campaign information packets are also available in the FPC office and can be mailed upon request.

Mission and Vision

2020 Vision Capital Campaign

Our vision and mission is to help

              Expand our Strengths

            Deepen our Connections and

                   Build for Mission

Critical to achieving this vision, is the need to better equip, repair and maintain our building and the surrounding property. As a House of Prayer for All Peoples, we need to rebuild, and rejuvenate our house, transforming it into a more welcoming, safe, attractive, comfortable environment. Our revitalized house, as a renewed center of hospitality, mission and outreach, will enhance our worship experience, strengthen our bonds of fellowship and enable us to better serve one another and those in need in our community and around the world.

Fairfax Presbyterian Church, has prayerfully and boldly embarked on a Strategic Plan – a 20/20 Vision of our church.
