Inside/outside home repair work performed for a family in April. Fairfax Presbyterian Church annually participates in the Rebuilding Together Program (formerly known as Christmas in April). Our Rebuilding Together project previously helped a Fairfax woman and her two children make improvements to their home. Our members did extensive yard work; painted, cleaned out and organized the garage; and repaired water-damaged ceilings. Fifty enthusiastic volunteers, including four from Northminster Presbyterian (our partner church in Washington, D.C.), created a transformation that was overwhelming to the family. Our work is truly a miracle of love.
National Rebuilding Day is the signature event of Rebuilding Together, the leading nonprofit organization working to preserve affordable home ownership. Every year on the last Saturday of April, volunteers with 166 Rebuilding Together affiliates repair and restore homes and non-profit facilities. They also bring national attention to the plight of America’s low-income homeowners and the communities in which they live. Each year, FPC staffs and sponsors a team to work on numerous projects with a local family. www.rebuildingtogether-aff.org FPC Program Leads: Mac Mercer, Sal Sparacino, Kevin Strickler
