JOY (Just Older Youth)

JOY is a small group of FPC members and friends who enjoy lunch, socializing and learning from our programs. Members are self-designated and often are more senior, although age is not a limitation. All are invited!

JOY programs and workshops follow the second worship service on advertised dates. Lunches are provided with donations welcome. Reservations are helpful for food preparation and setup, but not required. So, whether you are a JOY member, just coming of age, or somewhere in between, JOY invites you to attend. We welcome you to join us.

Purly Gators

As you undertake your journey, may you be blessed through the wearing of your shawl, and deeply blessed by your God who love you so.

PG Quote
This is the blessing that goes with each prayer shawl or lap robe the Purly Gators make to give to someone in our congregation in times of special need. We meet in the church library the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month from 10:00 – 12:00. All are invited to join us.

The Purly Gators have knitted over 40 shawls over the past seven years, blessed them, and given them with love to FPC members and friends. We also made hats and sweaters for a children’s mission in South Africa. The past four years we have made hats and scarves to keep our hypothermia guests warm in the cold winter months. This year we knitted or crocheted over 70 hats and scarves.

All are invited to join us. If you do not know how to knit or crochet, we will teach you! If you knit or crochet and cannot join us on those days, we would love to have you make a shawl to give. We store shawls in the cabinet in the outer office, so if you know some who could benefit from being wrapped in the love of your congregation, feel free to take one or let one of us or Pastor Henry know the need.

Men's Breakfast

Join us for Men’s Breakfast, generally on the 1st Saturday of the month.

Our Presbyterian Men’s Meeting begins with a great breakfast at 8am in the multipurpose room to enjoy fellowship followed by a presentation at 8:30 am. We welcome all Men of the Church to join us.

Our primary mission outreach is financial and volunteer at the Lamb Center in Fairfax, VA. We also perform special repair projects at the church and at the homes of members needing our service.

Book Club
The FPC Book Club is gearing up for another great year of reading.  Anyone who loves to read is encouraged to attend these monthly discussions – no reservations needed!  The group meets the 2nd Thursday of each month at 1 PM in the Church Parlor, September through June, excluding January.  For questions and more information, contact Mary Ann Campbell.
