Holy Week Schedule – 2017

April 9, Palm Sunday Worship at 8:45 and 11:15 a.m. Sermon: “Kings, Colts, Crowds, Cloaks and Kenosis,” based on Matthew 21:1-11 and Philippians 2:5-11. On this day, we remember the triumphal entry of Jesus in to Jerusalem, which started a week that ended with “death on a cross” (Philippians 2:8). As you walk with Jesus into Jerusalem, remember to log your miles on the “Walk to Jerusalem tracker” on the FPC website. As a congregation, we are trying to walk the full 5,912 miles between Fairfax and Jerusalem. Palm Sunday is also the day in which we will dedicate the pledges that church members are making to support the ministry and mission of the church for fiscal year 2017-2018, which begins on July 1. April 13, Maundy Thursday Worship at 7:30 p.m. We will remember the Last Supper with a service including the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper at the Communion table. Worship will include the music of the Sanctuary Choir and cellist Ken Law. April 14, Good Friday Worship at 7:30 p.m. Come to the cross of Jesus and give thanks for his sacri[icial death, with dramatic readings of the Good Friday story and music by the Sanctuary Choir.
