Advent Season Worship

Sunday, December 10  Second Sunday of Advent.
Sermon in Music at 8:45 am and 11:15 am  services.

Sunday, December 17 Third Sunday of Advent.
Worship at 8:45 am and 11:15 am , with a sermon by Henry Brinton, “Merely Christian.” Ordination and Installation of new officers at 11:15.

Thursday, December 21 Longest Night Service at 7:30 pm.
The holidays can be difficult for many of us, and this quiet, contemplative service can be a healing experience on the longest night of the year. Led by Gretchen Kuhrmann and others.

Sunday, December 24 Fourth Sunday of Advent
Single service of worship at 9:30 am, with a sermon by Yena Hwang. Note that we will have only one morning service because of the three Christmas Eve services in the afternoon and evening!

Christmas Eve services:

4:30 pm Children’s Service, led by Yena Hwang.

7:30 pm Lessons and Carols with leadership by Youths, Tempest Brevard and Henry Brinton.

10:00 pm Candlelight Communion with music by the Sanctuary Choir, and a message by Henry Brinton, “Christmas Eve in Space.”

Sunday, December 31 First Sunday after Christmas Day
Single service of worship at 9:30 am, with Christmas carols and a sermon by Henry Brinton, “Rocky Starts.”

Sunday, January 7 Baptism of the Lord
Worship at 8:45 am and 11:15 am, led by College Students, with a focus on “Beginnings.” Last year, a visitor to FPC was so inspired by this service that she said, “This is the church!” and became a member. May the same thing happen this year!
